Ideal Ayurvedic Resort has been awarded the Olive Leaf Certification for quality Ayurvedic care facilities. Additional information on the quality assurance this certification provides is presented below:

To ensure quality Ayurvedic care for tourists, the State Government of India has devised a classification of Ayurveda centres.

Green Leaf and Olive Leaf Certification are the two classifications available. Centres, which maintain the required standards in facilities, equipment, personnel, medicines and health programs offered, can apply for either of the classifications.

The certificate is valid for three years and is awarded by the Department of Tourism, after a thorough inspection of the centre's facilities and staff's qualifications, by a team comprising:

the Director, Kerala Tourism
the Director, Indian Systems of Medicine
Professor of Kayachikitsa, Government Ayurveda College, Thiruvananthapuram
a representative from the Ayurveda College, Kottakkal
a representative from the Indian Association of Tour Operators.

To acquire certification, therapy should be done under the supervision of a physician holding a recognised degree in Ayurveda. Staff must have received training from institutions recognized by the Government of India.

Only authorised programs of treatment using medicines from approved producers can be offered. With regard to the facilities, there should be at least two rooms for treatment, a consultation room and a rest room. There also has to be a bathroom/toilet attached to the treatment rooms. Instruments such as the BP apparatus, stethoscope, weighing machine and examination couch need to be available and the centre needs to have a massage table (of at least 7 ft. x 3 ft.) made of wood or fibreglass, a gas or electric stove, facilities for sterilisation and has to provide medicated hot water for bathing. All equipment, furniture and the premises have to be kept hygienic.

Green Leaf certification is awarded to centres that also provide facilities of outstanding aesthetic quality, with large areas of natural greenery within the premises.
