Chowara Fisherman's Beach Village

With the village spread along the length of Chowara Beach the villagers go about their everyday business. The large numbers of kattamarams leaving the beach for the far distant horizon, and then returning later in the day, are a spectacular sight. The lights of the nighttime fishermen, strung out along the shoreline, also provide an interesting visual display.

Kovalam Beach

Internationally renowned since the 1930s Kovalam consists of three adjacent beaches with the Vizhinjam lighthouse and harbour near by. Kovalam Beach provides a wide variety of accommodation, dining and shopping. Restaurants provide western style food as well as Indian and the food is generally delicious. The seafood items such as lobster, king prawns and kalamari are fresh from the sea at Kovalam. Ayurvedic massage parlours, yoga centres and water sport facilities make Kovalam a popular haven for tourists from all over the globe.

Coir Village

Situated in a coconut plantation, the village offers the opportunity to see coconut products being processed on site.
