along the length of Chowara Beach the villagers go about their
everyday business. The large numbers of kattamarams leaving
the beach for the far distant horizon, and then returning
later in the day, are a spectacular sight. The lights of the
nighttime fishermen, strung out along the shoreline, also
provide an interesting visual display. |

renowned since the 1930s Kovalam consists of three adjacent
beaches with the Vizhinjam lighthouse and harbour near by.

items such as lobster, king prawns and kalamari are fresh from
